Amman

Ammania (sp. Ammannia) comes from the tropical swamps of Africa and America. Known in the aquarium trade for several decades. True, for a long time some of the plants belonged to completely different species and were called yn wahanol, for example, Nesei (Nesaea). The change in classifications and names led to confusion with the names, which was only exacerbated by the emergence of new varieties.

Plants often reach more than half a meter in height, so they are not suitable for small aquariums. Depending on the specific species, the shape and size of the leaf blades differ, as well as their color. The color of the leaves varies from pale green to pink or bright red. However, the beautiful appearance of Ammanias depends entirely on the conditions in which they grow.

Most of them are quite capricious, needing warm water, bright light, and nutrient-rich, soft, deep ground. Regular feeding and additional introduction of carbon dioxide is required (not for all species). The complexities of maintenance limit the distribution of these plants in the hobby aquarium. Not recommended for beginners.
